The Black Beaver Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR or DAR), was established in Norman, Oklahoma, in 1914 by the Organizing Chapter Regent Mrs. Malvina Bowling Glenn. The chapter's name was selected to honor Black Beaver, a member of the Delaware Tribe of Native American Indians. He was an exceptional scout and trapper renowned for his assistance to fellow Native Americans, settlers, and the United States Government.
Black Beaver Chapter, NSDAR, celebrated its centennial in 2014, and we desire it to continue to play a significant role in the ongoing work of "Today's DAR." More than one million women have found purpose and passion in DAR membership. Join us in supporting historic preservation, education, and patriotism! |
